Kids Choose Caitlin

Big congratulations to Caitlin Stasey (Rachel Kinski) who found out last week that she has been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids Choice award.

Caitlin is nominated in the Fave Female TV Star category. Voting opens on Sunday 12^th August so get over to the Nickelodeon website and click on Caitlin! You'll be able to vote until Sunday 23^rd September so there'll be plenty of time to get your voice heard.

The actual award ceremony will take place in Sydney on Wednesday 10^th October and hopefully Caitlin will have some company on the red carpet; ex Neighbours star Natalie Bassingthwaighte (Izzy Hoyland) is also nominated for an award. Her group Rogue Traders are competing for the Fave Band title... and if their reception at the Neighbours Next Generation party is anything to go by, they're in with a good chance.

Caitlin, who was on the location bus heading to Ramsay Street when she got the call, was thrilled to learn that she'd been chosen. However, she admits it was a bit of a shock.

"I was surprised," she explains. "It was really cool but I didn't expect it at all. Now I just want Matthew Werkmeister (Zeke Kinski) to be nominated for something as well because I'd like that. Even though he's not as good as I am," she jokes.

And just in case there are any floating voters out there who aren't already completely sure who their favourite female television personality is, Caitlin explains why she should win.

"I want to beat the other nominees," she grins. "They may be prettier, but I'm, er, faster!"

She also pledges to "save the starving children of Africa and end world poverty" if she is successful. Something tells us that not even bossy Rachel Kinski is quite that powerful.
