Vicky Pollard 4 Ned Parker

Wed 31st January 2007

They won the poll on our website so it was only fitting that a few Neighbours should welcome Matt Lucas and David Walliams to Melbourne when the Little Britain Live show finally arrived in Australia.

It's no secret that several members of the cast are massive fans of the hit UK comedy and they were quick to get on the phone and group book some tickets when the tour dates were announced.

"I love Little Britain," confessed Dan O'Connor (Ned Parker). "I've even got one of those key rings that play all of the catchphrases. And I had my picture taken with the Madame Tussauds waxwork of Andy when I was in London over Christmas."

Happily, it seems the Little Britain love goes both ways. The boys have added some local gags to their sketches and there were huge cheers from the audience when Matt Lucas' character Vicky Pollard mentioned that she had been on a tour to Ramsay Street hoping to meet Ned Parker.

Delighted Dan was only too happy to oblige. He and fellow cast members Pippa Black (Elle Robinson) and Natalie Blair (Carmella Cammeniti) went backstage after the show to meet the men behind the make-up.

Clearly being a celebrity doesn't stop you from being excited about meeting other celebrities. Natalie Blair admits she's obsessed with David Walliams' character Sebastian and wasn't quite sure what she would say to him when they finally came face to face.

"Feel my pulse," she exclaimed. "It's racing! I'm really nervous."

Happily the gang found plenty to chat about and the evening ended with an open invitation to Matt and David to come and visit the set when they're back in Melbourne. There was even talk of a possible cameo appearance if schedules allow. Now that really would cause a kerfuffle in Erinsborough.
